August 8, 2016 – The European Investment Fund (EIF) Research & Market Analysis published recently a new working paper entitled “The role of cooperative banks and smaller institutions for the financing of SMEs and small midcaps in Europe” by Frank Lang, Simone Signore, and Salome Gvetadze.

It provides a market analysis of small financial intermediaries, such as small cooperative banks, which play an important role for SMEs’ access to finance in Europe.

The paper makes several references to the Banking Business Models Monitor 2015 Europe and to other external publications by the IRCCF Director Prof. Rym Ayadi about cooperative banks and European banking.

Part of the EIB Group, the EIF is a specialist provider of risk finance to benefit small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) across Europe.
